The Honors Program Mission and Vision Statements
New Scholarship Opportunity for Honors Students Studying Abroad
Funded by USAC and the Honors Program, this new scholarship is open to UNR Honors students studying at a USAC Specialty program during the 2010-11 academic year. Eligible programs are Chile, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, France, Ireland, Germany, Ghana, USAC India, Italy, Mexico and Spain. Scholarships up to $1000 will be awarded each travel session. Applications are due as early as March 1 for students traveling this summer. More information can be found on the application. Please contact USAC for more information about the study abroad and scholarship opportunities available to all UNR students.

The Honors Program applications is February 1st for new, incoming freshmen. Although this initial deadline has passed, interested students are still encouraged to apply. Congratulations to Matt Polasko, a 2009 Goldwater Scholar!
Awarded to outstanding college sophomores and juniors in the fields of mathematics, science, and engineering, the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is the premier national award for undergraduates in these areas. Matt, a Biochemistry major and Honors student, is one of only 278 Goldwater Scholars for the 2009-2010 school year and the sole recipient of this award in the state of Nevada.
